Moments to Remember ...with Laughter

So I kept thinking about whether there was a point to post about this but then decided it's wayyy to funny to keep to myself. If your not a parent or parent to be you may not find this funny....you may actually find this gross or weird but when you become a parent your view of what's funny and cute and sweet and so on well pretty much your whole world turns upside down (in a GREAT [usually] way). To the story at hand, which happens two days ago.
So M takes baby Alek upstairs to play so I can have some minutes of downtime and they can have some father-son bonding. After about 15 minutes...maybe 20 I go upstairs and understand that they are in the nursery. I open the door, the light is off...the projector (A fisher price crib toy a friend bought) is playing. Alek is lying horizontal in his crib, playing with his feet and watching the projected images and avidly babbling. Meanwhile....M is asleep in the glider. OK so very cute!( Great father-son bonding. No Im kidding M is awesome and he is my rock and an AMAZING father but he was exhausted I guess.) Next I think Im seeing things because I could have sworn I was a puddle beside Alek. Wait! What!? A puddle in the crib? Uhmmm....need to check it out. What do I do? I put my hand on it. Oh my it feels like poo. I loudly say I think THAT's POO and I turn the light on. M jolts awake and gets up and YEP that "puddle" was number 2. Sigh! (And no as a mom you don't even seem to think eww gross my hand was just in poo). We quickly pick Alek up who must have felt uncomfortable in the puddle so moved and turned horizontal to turn away from the puddle. Though I guess he was so thouroughly enjoying the projecter (he loves it) and didn't want to wake up daddy do he was not crying...or maybe it JUST happened (we will never know).
M is holding Alek up who is covered in poo and he begins to carry him but we don't want to spread the mess so i take off his pants and diaper and put them on top of the soiled bedsheet. Of course I get my hand and arm in the mess. Next we quickly rush to the bathroom to well...hose him down (and quickly wash my hand. Alek begins crying because the water must have shocked him and he wasn't comfortable hanging the way he was from M's hands by the armpits. Anyways the story ends with us dressing him up in fresh NEW clothing. Yep he is now fitting in 12-18 month clothing my BABY 5 month old son that's right!
Yep, as a parent you just learn to laugh at things that may have grossed you out, embaressed you or just plain weirded you out before. I am sure as Alek grows he will begin saying the darnest things and doing the funniest things but I already have some funny moments to cherish or at least remember...haha. For example, 2 weeks ago at the doctors office he began shrieking (so cute! and no I am not crazy wait till your kid begins doing it) everyone looked at me and I just coloudn't help but laugh because he was so super excited testing out his voice. Or, today M was giving him timne without his diaper and he was crying then he peed and was all smiles again! Another example was when my friend was holding him and he tried to dive head first into her bra well she in well humour responded "hey hey hey, you haven't even bought me dinner yet". Alek just looked up in surprise!
